Day night cycle
Ok so being that I am a player who plays nights I've realized something lately. DAYTIME IS FUCKING AWESOME. I've recently played during the day hours and I gotta say, it is amazing seeing multiple colors and being able to spot things in the distance. Furthermore, full moon nights are not working properly. Sometimes you have no choice but to use NVG and I hate that. Since my group is on at night, I know that everyone in my group 100% agrees. I'd like to request that we go back to the 24 hour daylight we have done in the past.

Re: Day night cycle
Well it works some nights but not others. I was just hoping we could go back to full day time mode. I figured it may bring more night time players in.
Is it not possible with the new update or something?

Re: Day night cycle
I'm not necessarily for a 24 hour day. I enjoy the night, to be honest. However, I do agree that we tend to be caught only in the night cycle, due to our play time. Personally, my career prevents me from playing during the day much.
I wouldn't be much against, and I feel few others would, an accelerated day/night cycle. Akin to playing Skyrim, or Fallout. The day and night pass with a relative speed. Of course, it no where needs to be as advancing as those games; but I think some sort of adequate pace could be derived through exercise and test.

I'm up for this and I really miss rain and fog. For the moment heatpacks, chemlights and roadflares serve no purpose at all other than balancing loot spawns with junk items.

Re: Day night cycle
I think we had in the past alternating weeks ,one week day reversed then night the next maybe we could do something like that ?
I feel its not just me who doesnt play during the week because of the night cycle

Re: Day night cycle
busy blocking the brand new hacks 2night, not gonna make it in time for 6:30 restart.
but how about we switch up the timezones tmrrw? that way we still keep a normal cycle, it will just be flipped.
then in a week or so, we'll flip them back

**I'm going to change the timezone. I'm just trying to decide on a few things 1st. Main thing is all the players who play during the day on the weekend. Flipping the timezone will make it dark during "real life" daytime. I really dont want to make it 24/7 daylight, its just like giving up IMO. I promise to switch it soon, to give some daylight for the people who mostly play @ night. I'm going to try and find a timezone that can accommodate everyone a bit.
(dont hate me for not switching it yet, its a priority. day/night has always been a issue, and not easy to solve (too please everyone))
Re: Day night cycle
try 4 or 6 hour cycles? maybe even an odd number to through it off, make watches more useful in game.

Re: Day night cycle
Been thinking on this alot.
I'm going to work on something today (after I get some coffee), not sure if I can make it work with 1.7 server files, or be able to do it without modified client files. But If theres a way, I'll try to find it.
What I want to do is alternate night/day each restart. Or something very similar. 4-5 hrs of day followed by 4-5 hrs of night.
Before someone mentions "origins" , they were not the 1st to do it, and deff. not the ones who created the code to do it. . They have stolen scripts from all over the place and claimed them as their own. Among many other unethical practices.
Enough about them, I think something like this would be a decent solution to this issue. Everyone could play in night or day, no matter their real life schedule.

Re: Day night cycle
I would like to see an odd number of hours like 5 or 7 day/night cycles. (5 seems more practical). it would give the watch more value and the server would be less predictable.
