Idea - Base Building

Why? Because we are starting to get alot of groups running around and the fact that most of the time, you can't be all online at the same time could make this really helpful. Make bases with ressource, that is all.

EDIT : I would recommend putting up a rules that base can only be built OUT OF THE WAY. That is not in the middle of the road or a town or whatever, just in in fields and forest.

I wish I could spend more time on this. But with a job and family, the reality is I'm limited on free time.

I'm very sorry you are bored here. My main goal is to provide a dayZ server where people can play the game (the way it was supposed to be played), without the worries of hackers ruining everything. I promise to always fix things like that. ANd to hold events , etc. etc.

As far as base building, I'm not sure when I will have it ready. So I'm sorry about that. Hopefully everyone isn't too bored, I'll continute to hold events, ban hackers, restore lost gear...... I hope most of you guys will stick around. I hope everyone isn't bored already.

just wondering if you had looked at this much more. i know your busy... everyone is, but if this isn't possible atm, could you somehow boost the amount of sandbags, wire,ttraps,etc. on the server so we could try? i like base building in games like minecraft so something like this in dayz would be awesome... just wanted an update. and to answer your question trog. This is possible, but there were some things about it that I felt didnt belong in a survival game like dayZ.

Instead of people being able to build bases. What I would rather do is build a few really cool bases/HQ's around the map. Then, people could "claim" them.....once they claimed it, other groups could try to attack and take it over.

Hopefully this weekend I can finish up some stuff I've been playing around with.

i like the custom bases idea, like presetup ones, thats kool, that a way people dont just build a box to live in, it will have multiple floors and detail, i like it . if you do end up doing this, you need like 5 of them, 2 up in the boonies NW & NE and 2 closer to the coast (above Kameka and on the SW island) and then one in the very center of the map, being the biggest, possibly right outside NWAF. with those locations people could literately own the land.

just make sure there is ground inside for tent space, and multiple doorways and that would be epic! idk if you can set a zombie spawn but it could be helpful or harmful near these bases... alot to think about and alot more to do, but it would be awesome to see come together...

to tell the truth, i think i just want minecraftdayz. because all i want to do is build these bases. not for myself but just for the server. putting in random buildings throws a wrench in the system. i want to be the wrench!

As what you said about not in towns or roads, many servers with base building have it where it cannot be built within 300 meters of a town or building

I have good reasons why I dont mess with this. (along with other certain things)

I enjoy stability. bugs/glitches upset me. Certain things can be worked with and made stable, but this isn't one. I've messed with it alot.
