Re: Kill messages.
I vote turn them back on. Distance isn't really necessary but I'm not opposed.

Re: Kill messages.
Also it would help, because a lot of times im in a firefight i shoot and it says "blahblah has died" but im not sure if thats who i was shooting at or not so i'll get up and get shot. It would help the killer confirm his own kill.
But really billy gave me gonnoreah. That bastard. Bullet wounds, bad care.

Yea guys, listen to one of the servers biggest bandits. If he doesnt care, then whoever does needs to get their head examined, just like Billy.

Re: Kill messages.
I've only played with ability to see who died.
I've been killed by mystery killers and had to my best to figure out who the killer and is a concept I enjoy.
(I used false information to bait clan mates to out my killer... fun times)
Peoples in game actions would be determined by in-game messages
You know if you've killed someone your kills are counted for on the personal stats menu (I press Insert) take a peek when you start your gaming and look after you think you got the kill.
If theirs a silent killer in the game hunting him down outing him is also a concept I enjoy playing as a group using bait tactics and finding the killer.
Say Millan turned rouge and was the killer could you imagine the shock in the server it would be epic gaming moments like this could be lost.
Playing choices would be controlled by server information.
I think to much information will make this game feel like call of duty and battlefield.

well put
Re: Kill messages.
I completely get Gambit's point that it would change the game, but it may not be for the worse. It would help create friendly rivalry among other things. It wouldnt completely make it like battlefield or call of duty. It would just add another element to the game.
How do you imbed a picture?

Re: Kill messages.
easiest way to imbed, I like "imgur.com"
then upload it to tht website and grab the "direct link" code
then in the compose message box click the 16th box from the right (image)
then put that direct link code in there and you are good 2 go

Re: Kill messages.
Would it be possible to give "the range and weapon used" without giving away who the killer is? If so, I think it would be an acceptable compromise for most. Besides I'd like to humiliate a few players with long range crossbow shots or, L.Enfield shots. If not, count me in for turning kill messages back on.

Re: Kill messages.
I'd say just show by what weapon someone was killed but not what player.
another option:
When you examine a dead body, right now it just says: "it appears player ... was killed by" but nothing more.
Would be cool if you then could see by what caliber (or melee weapon for instance) the person was killed
But I don't know if that's even possible?
Edit: One reason why I would be against a full who was killed by who message is that a silent kill is no longer possible. If someone want to bloat about it there's the side chat

Re: Kill messages.
I have created a new thread with a Poll, I think I have covered what most people have mentioned here, let's put it to a vote. https://huntersden.forumotion.com/t564-vote-on-kill-message

With a full who was killed by who message a silent kill is no longer possible. If someone wants to bloat about it there's the side chat
