Hows things ingame?
Haven't received many reports lately, so just wanted to ask 2 important questions.
I'll keep it simple for once.
1. Hows FPS (in general of course)?
2. Hows the loot spawning lately (I turned it back a good bit)?

also, just some information (i knew i couldn't keep it that simple)
Last few days restarts have been at approx. 5:30-5:40 PM and AM and 11:30:11:40 PM and AM
Main reason for changing the times was to counter the infamous midnight loot/zed despawning (from the main server cleanup that runs each night @ that time)
we will keep them like this for now.

All in all you did a migthy fine job skeet. From what I read on the dayz forums the update is still fucked (although a little better) up.
And in the Den I experience almost no problems anymore!

Just a few minor things I experienced:
- I do experience a little framerate drop, mostly around towns. But I've been messing around with my graphicsettings so don't know if it's related. Will check this later again
- I think it was just before a server restart yesterday. Loot was spawning normally but no z's. I haven't seen this after that restart so maybe it was a one time glitch
- Has the ghillie spawnrate been ajusted? Cause after not finding 1 in three months I found 3 in 2 sessions. Or was I just lucky?
- Weapon spawnrate is much better but still a little high I think. Seen alot of m16's in different varieties but without ammo (I think you had this a few month ago aswell?)

The server runs very smooth, I got close to no yellow or red connection chains. The loot spawn is fine although not as balanced as in 1.7.6.1. There are way too many weapons in military bulidings, sometimes without ammo but that doesn't really bother me because you get enough ammo by simply finding more weapons now. As for civilian buildings I haven't checked them in a while but I already told yuu about that ridiculous amount of weapons you were able to find there at the weekend. I dunno if you altered that a bit by now.

The random "weapon with no loot" type spawns are going to be hard to totally erase. But I'm watching it close, and trying some things on test server. In 1.7.6.1 I was able to guarantee every weapon would spawn with 2-4 magazines. I know we can achieve the same with 1.7, its up to me to make it happen.
(I totally agree Pie, we had things balanced very nice in 1.7.6.1 I have no doubt we will get to that point again. Just takes alot of reports from you guys......and some trial and error.)
Overall I'm happy with our progress, we are doing really well with the cards we were dealt. Check out the weapon spawning, I did dial it down alot. If needed, we will keep tuning it until we are 100% satisfied.

been hunting for any info that may help u chimera
only thing I've found is that some ppl had horrible FPS with 1.7 while using a different Arma version (any version other than 103419).
I didn't even test this, but I'm 99% sure it wont even let you join the server unless you have arma beta patch 103419.
But atleast double check that you are using 103419. The reports from others said they had awful fps with 1.7 until they switched to that arma version.......then performance was great.

magazines should spawn with ALL weapons better now

I appreciate the effort. Unfortunately, when I try to play with that version, it tells me I have a Bad Version, and does not let me connect.

Lately, every once in a while, there is a server-wide lag spike, that usually lasts two to four minutes. The game is extremely "skippy." Others have said they experience it too

yea, 1.7.7 has alot of things I do not like. What you are describing is due to all the extra events that were added. As if there wasn't enough useless stuff going on behind the scenes, they actually added a ton of new stuff. At the end of the day, 95% of the things added are completely unnecessary. I recently started testing some things that will hopefully smooth out some of the 1.7.7 bumps.

1.7.7 is far from optimized, certain events bottleneck and can slow down the communication between the client and server (in some cases all but stops communication)

Loot spawning is getting better. Good job Skeet!
What I've noticed is a lot of loot is spawning in big numbers... 5 MRE's, 4 M203HE, 5 smoke grenades...
And alot of ammoboxes and camo/ghillies at barracks and heli crashsites

Skeet, don't know if you had the time to check the lootspawning yet but here's some feedback:
Spawns at helisites are still pretty predictable. ammoboxes, 2 or 3 guns (mostly m14 and g36's) camo and/or ghillie
Haven't seen alot of 'em but the ones I have seen all had thesame sort of loot
And still a lot of 5x the same kind of stuff
The spawntime is awesome tho' even when driving loot spawns very quickly

thank you slarty , loot spawning will always be a main focus of mine. and I'm desperate for feedback from all the players. without the feedback its almost impossible to know what to change
here is the table for helicrash EAST (mi-17 crash)
the chances of the stuff spawning is what needs to monitored and changed. since the available list is not all that big, you will always mostly see the same stuff......with the rare occurrence of finding something special. (just the way its supposed to work)
here is what the other crash sites spawn
you will notice some of the stuff I removed, I did this because it will allow better things a chance to spawn.....and who the fk wants to find a compass @ a helicrash?
also the default crash sites do not contain alot of the weapons listed above. this is exclusive to the DEN
I've been wanting to post this for everyone to see, and never did. Helicrashes are different, because they have short list to spawn items from. I do change the spawn chances around alot though, this is handled elsewhere, each item is give a value (0.03 for example out of 1.00)
So certain things like ammoboxes, and items from the "military" and "medical" tables will mostly spawn, and then weapons, and then on rare occasions the weapons with a very low chance <----which i change around alot to offer variety

I hope everyone's ingame experiences are good, or at least getting better.
I've been sneaking small changes in all the time. From my viewpoint I'm very happy. I hope everyone else is happy/satisfied as well.

I think the loot spawns in supermarkets are completely screwed. Most of the time the main room is completely empty. Considering weapons I think there's still too many in barracks or i'm just extremely lucky and rarely ever stumble across trash piles. Although I don't excessively loot cycle so this might be caused that people leave some guns behind and I arrive when the empty loot spawns get filled up. But consumables still often come along in huge numbers. As for weapons in civilian buildings it got way better now, they don't spawn like an army depot anymore.
Furthermore when you go to NEAF there's close to no zombie spawns whereas you might get swarmed by 6 or 7 zombies when approach a barn. I don't know if you can fiddle around these numbers but they seem way off.

the "main room" you are talking about. i'll check. they did remove certain loot spawn points. there may not be as many spots as before in the market. i know they removed alot of possible spots in different areas

okay made some changes to the supermarkets, and industrial loot spawns. please let me know tmrrw what you think.
