I really do feel bad when I watch someone get kicked for using a certain hotkey. I feel EXTRA bad when they are flying a heli.

I wish you guys could see the good side of this. I promise you all, its very necessary, and worth the annoyance.

From the time we opened to the public, we have prevented alot of people from cheating. It has been very enjoyable to keep everyone's gameplay hacker_free. We've only had 1 occurrence, and it was simply because the keybinds were removed (I kept them removed while the server was private, and forgot to put them back)

I know it is annoying. I really want to allow TAB (its what most of you guys get kicked for). But so many cheats are injected by pressing TAB.

I promise to work on some things, I'm going to try and allow ALT + TAB......but still kick for plain ol' TAB

until then, please dont hate me. Its just 1 of the many things protecting our server.

oh yea, one more thing.

if you notice a new player getting kicked alot. let them know why, let them know certain hotkeys will kick, and its just the anti-hack.

Could we create a sticky here that shows which hotkeys would kick you? It would be a good reference because even some veteran players can forget.

I'll think about it.

Posting a list will defeat the purpose. The different people making hack menus are constantly changing the keybinds already.




**For now, please take note to what can get you kicked. If you have something assigned to such a key, take a minute and reassign it to 1 that wont get you kicked.

This way I can keep the place safe, and you guys wont get kicked

I really wish I could show you guys how this really works. (not all #0 kicks are for hotkeys.  it can be many different things)

The hotkey thing is only the 1st line of defense.  95% of the time, no other measures are needed to completely block out the cheater<----I refuse to call them hackers.

Since we went public, this script has stopped alot of potential attacks.  When I get home each day, I usually have 5-8 ppl to ban.  (without the script, I would have a disaster each day.  and plenty of rollbacks)

Right now there are over 100 hundred different variables to check for.  And each week new ones are released.  Which means constantly updating the script to stop the newest methods.

I know some of you are really annoyed by the hotkey part.  I PROMISE,  I will remove this whenever the server is private again (I'm enjoying the new faces that are coming with being public.  eventually we will be able to be private again and have a nice ingame population)

going to exclude TAB next restart (if i can stay awake)

if not, tmrrw morning. I've found another way to handle that key. and its the 1 most legit players get kicked for.

Hopefully we can keep it this way, if it allows any problems, we will put it back. I hope everyone knows I dont do this stuff to piss anyone off (except cheaters). I do all this to protect everyones gameplay. The hacking community is constantly trying to bypass things, and come up with new ways to execute malicious scripts.

I've apologized, I've informed everyone its only temporay while we are public, but I still see people getting upset about it. So I'm excluding TAB, the cheats/hacks available are the reason for such strict antihacks. Arma/dayz is the most hacked game out there. Its way easier for people to hack/cheat, than it is for server owners to STOP it.

please dont hate me, it was much easier for me to secure the server when it was private. So hopefually we can go back to a 100% private server soon.
