*solved*Gun disappears upon logging back in.

I've had this issue twice now, and once on another server. I'm not sure if it is just DayZ in general or the server. Sometimes when I log out and back in (due to skype audio issues or server restart) my primary gun is no longer in my hand or even in my inventory. I appear back in the same place where I logged off but my gun is gone. Nothing too important has been lost, only a Lee Enfield.


**PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED**

This happened a lot about a month ago it's the reason we changed out names to include the clan tag at the back. I've had a few complaints about it but not nearly as bad as it used to be. Try changing the beginning of your name.

Might be the [coy] tag try adding that to the end of your name.

You'll need to let me know if it happens again. scotts correct, nofw's clan tags were casuing them alot of problems. but that was 1st time I've had that happen. weird characters in your name put you at risk as well (looks @ petrov)

next time it happens, please make note of the date and time.......so I have some help when checking things.

certain things can cause this. some are more common than others.

most common thing for losing gear upon logging back in would be:
when you acquire new gear/items, its always a good idea to stay on the server for 2-3 more minutes. if you pick something up and leave before the database updates your character, then whenever you log back in.....you wont have that item

thats just 1 example of many, so please make note of date and time if it happens again. also write down any other info you can think of (because it helps me alot)

*you say you lost a lee enfield, did you lose the magazines for it as well?
*did it happen today when you mentioned it in side chat? if so I'll start there

I lost the Enfield and the magazines yesterday at the 7:30 restart. And now at the 6:15 restart I didn't notice until later but my M107 had disappeared or turned INTO a MK48 Mod 0 while in my backpack, although I already had a MK48 Mod 0 in my hand. I had obtained the M107 and the MK48 from a heli crash about 20 minutes earlier. The only other occurance was today around 4:30-5:00 when I had just recently obtained a L85A2 Holo from the Elektro fire station, logged out to eat and logged back into to only find my L85 was gone, mags and gun. If this is connected to my name, what do you think I should replace or get rid of. [Coy] Jackal.

I dont think its your name.

But if it was, I'd get you to put the clan tag at the end of your name.

Until I check further, I think your logging out to quick sometimes. For example, when you found the gun in the firestation, just stay in the server for 2-3 minutes longer (a good 5 minutes if you really wanna be safe)

When database server and game server are running perfect, I'd say stick around for 60 sec. at the most. But since you can never really tell when your ingame.......the longer you stay, the better chance the information will be passed to the database. Try this, if you still have similar issues, then we will work on it. But I'm 99.9 percent sure the information is not making into the database before you leave.
