The BK Raid -PART 2- "Counter Offensive" Empty The BK Raid -PART 2- "Counter Offensive"

After regrouping with each other again, we now had a common purpose. A triad of rag-tag free roamers had put pressure on a small militia, all caught in surprise. We figured that with better tactics, weapons, and the element of surprise, that we may have a chance to go toe to toe with the legend himself.

After making our way back to were our skirmish took place, we were surprised to find that our UAZ was still intact, with weapons still inside. That had taken what they wanted and left everything else. We began to pool our knowledge of the locations they frequented. We all agreed that they had to have a base within the local area, based on the fact that they had left for sometime in one vehicle (Lr offroad) and had doubled back to the same area in another vehicle entirely (black SUV). We surmised that they had found the vehicle somewhere further down the road, swapped out, and were on their way back to stash whatever loot they had. We were a threat to finding this location, which is why they had engaged us. Others had sighted them as well, and after careful analysis of the map, we were able to map out a circle of area to search. Dave at the time had ran into a spot of trouble and was making his way back to us. Myself and Shiro were driving through plots of forest around the north east airfield. After several passed in the surrounding area we had just passed a long open field on a rolling hill entering another block of forest.

No sooner had we entered the tree line did we notice something odd up ahead. Killing the engine, myself and Shiro both saw what appeared to be flickering lights up ahead. Creeping closer we could make out what turned out to be a late night rave party. Several participants were actively flashing their flashlights up into the trees, flaring my NVGs. We watched for a long time, drawing closer until we were within about 100-200 meters. Eventually the party died down, and apparently they were running low on drinks, as they all loaded into the SUV and took off to the nearest store. Expecting a guard to be posted, we found none, only their entire base camp, complete with several vehicles and tents filled to the brim with the spoils of war and pillage.

Soon Dave was able to join us, and as we went through what was available, we were able to find the weapons that had stolen from us. I reclaimed my trusty DMR, and we all loaded up, prepared for war. We planned to ambush them upon their return, and we promptly disabled their
vehicles, save for one, just in case they tried to use any of them against us. A long time past, and we reworked our plan, twice. At first we decided that we would switch our UAZ for theirs, essentially packing all the items into ours and leaving theirs empty. However we decided we would leave them with nothing, and we loaded both UAZs, and hid them in a location far enough off, as one of us stood guard for their return.

By this time we were getting tired of waiting for them to come back on their own, and while it was against my judgement to give away our advantage of complete surprise, it was far more entertaining to leave subtle hints in chat that we had located their base. Eventually I told them that I needed a ride, and we should let "bygones be bygones" giving them their own bases grid coordinates as the pickup point, near a "store." They very quickly figured out what was going on, and the three of us setup tactical positions for the coming battle. Very soon after we heard the approach of a vehicle to the south west edge of the forest.

I scouted the area from my vantage point with the DMR, calling out targets converging from multiple flanks toward the base, very cautiously, and I admit I almost laughed at how methodically they were. As they drew closer to the base I formulated an idea that the most of them had left their vehicle, and that perhaps at most there would be one person to dispatch. I couldn't resist, so I took off through the northern woods heading west, until I reached the clearing, and spotted the vehicle. Not seeing anyone near it, is was not until I got closer than it dawned on me that the defender might be in the vehicle back passenger. No sooner had I reached it, did I noticed just what I had surmised. Almost immediately as the occupant jumped out did I jump in.....to the driver seat. Firing wildly the assailant shot through the windows, just as I pulled away, bullets pinging off of the back. I realized that I had taken a round and was beginning to bleed out fast. I jumped out and dove behind the vehicle to bandage myself, just as more rounds slammed into the SUV, as I struggled to return fire more vectors of fire hit me, and I went down. Dave was left with the best position, as he was the contingency, and he opened fire, finally able to take two down before once again being mowed down by Edgar's MK48 Mod. In the end they thought they had won on the same terms as last time, until their inventory of their gear turned up goose eggs.

Edgar swore confidently that he would find the stash, thinking that it had to be close (which it wasn't) and it was obvious that he was on a search. Feeling bloodthirsty for I had barely fire a shot, we rushed back to the area, in hopes that their disabled vehicles would slow them down.
